Confession time: I do have a fetish for men's wear, I think I was a tailor/style guru for Shaka Zulu in my past life.I do think my commentary on men's wear will be an opportunity for me to vent out my style inspirations and shine a light on what/who I think is leading the pack in men's wear fashion.
The lines demarcating what male and female is, is being slightly tested in terms of fashion. You get women dressed as men and vice versa or even men dressed as women dressed as men....go figure.
In post modern society I think the need for sex labels is being questioned and people are really starting to be more unashamedly aware of their sexuality however contentious that may be.

PUMPS FOR MEN: Androgyny At it's highest order....the pink bow on the pump is the cherry on a well iced cake. "Who needs loafers now?"
I'm totally smitten with the Johnny Depp "pirates of the Caribbean" grunge look that is synonymous with the Vivienne Westwood design aesthetic. The Pink brogues are also aiming to push the boundary in men's wear...the idea of having a basic black brogue is being debated plus pink is the new black.......I do think that trend will take a bit longer to take off, if at all. I think for me personally I relish in the idea of wearing losing fitting clothing that still fits I think that Westwood really captures that ideal immaculately in her aesthetic be it for the male or female audience.
The Nerd look is going to stay for a bit longer within the fashion sphere but I think its one of those fashion fads that come,become over consumed and overdone commercially and just die a sad death. It's a philanthropic trend which has payed homage to the socially awkward and miss-understood and given them some lead singer limelight.I particularly appreciate the humour of the tweed tacket with white panelling as well as the red "slip-ons" with the matching red socks.......very mister bean-like.
Playful Jewellery......the rouge lips.All I can say is where can I get a pair and and eat your heart Angelina and Maybeline........Because I'm worth it!!
